Words found among the ruins after the last war:“Yes, we lived in a time of darkness, and we did nothing. Yes, we looked up and saw the sky in flames, and we knew that we had kindled those flames with our own hands.Yes, we squandered every breath on anger. Children, if any of you have survived this: begin again with the simplest things — we beg you. Step out of the garden of darkness and, in the morning light, touch your faces.Very slowly. Very slowly. Call one another by name.”— Joseph Fasano@OnlyFaithOverFear

“We tried. We tried to play all those roles we thought might keep us from losing the people we cared about. We tried to please everyone, in every possible way, whenever we could. And in the process, our identity began to fracture, to scatter. When we were finally alone, we would look in the mirror and see nothing reflected back. We spent years asking ourselves who we really were. And whenever someone criticized or judged us, we built our identity around that criticism, around that judgment. And it hurt. God, how it hurt. But I want to tell you something: those who truly love us will love us with our fragility, our doubts, and our insecurities. We do not have to pretend to be strong just to make people stay. Some will leave no matter how hard we try to make ourselves lovable. Because staying is a choice. Their choice. Our loneliness needs to heal. And the only way to heal it is to

A net lift on the cliffs of Meteora, Greece, 1908.For centuries, this was how monks were lifted up to the monasteries perched high on the rocks. The monasteries stand at an elevation of around 600 metres above sea level.@OnlyFaithOverFear

Traditional Syrian Aghabani EmbroideryAghabani is one of Syria’s distinctive traditional crafts, particularly associated with Douma, a city northeast of Damascus. Although Damascene merchants helped bring Aghabani to wider attention, for generations the craft flourished primarily in the home workshops of Douma, where the skill was passed down from one generation to the next. The process begins by transferring a pattern onto the fabric using carved wooden blocks and temporary indigo dye. The artisan then guides the cloth beneath the needle of an old, manually operated sewing machine, tracing the ornament stitch by stitch. The machine is merely a tool — the final result depends on the eye, skill, and hand of the person guiding it.This is why no two pieces of Aghabani are ever quite the same. One artisan may work with dense, bold stitching, while another leaves more open space, giving

An interesting fact: In the past, giving a child a name was not simply choosing what to call them. It was a wish expressed in a single word.A name could carry hopes for a child’s future. Strength, courage, wisdom, protection, victory or peace were often hidden within its meaning. It could also connect a person with their family, ancestors and faith. The question was not only:“What shall we call this child?”but also:“What do we wish for this child?”In some ancient traditions, names were believed to be so closely connected with a person that a true or sacred name could even be kept secret, protecting its bearer from harmful influences.A name was not merely a label. It carried identity, belonging and, for some, even a connection with destiny. And what about name days?A birthday marks the day we came into the world. A name day carries a different meaning.

For the new week, I wish you the courage not to put life on hold until everything finally falls into place. That moment may never come, and life has a curious way of unfolding right in the midst of imperfect circumstances.May your dreams be bigger than your habits, your hope resilient in the face of disappointment, and your courage strong enough to take you, sometimes, where reason offers no guarantees but the heart still finds meaning.Live. Dream. Dare. As long as we keep moving, there will always be roads we have yet to discover. A.W@OnlyFaithOverFear

Why are you waiting? Are you waiting for life to work a miracle for you? For circumstances to change in your favor? Who are you waiting for? Why? How much longer will you wait?If you don’t get up and become your own God, you cannot expect anything to change. If you don’t begin, nothing will happen. If you don’t knock, no door will open. If you don’t walk your own path, no map will take you anywhere.Miracles happen only when you take the first step toward your own fulfillment, toward your dream. No one will bring you happiness as a gift. No one will make you happy unless you do it yourself. So get up. Set out on your journey. The journey toward your own happiness. Sail the sea of your emotions. Live!

Everyone knows that mud is necessary for lotus flowers to grow.Mud does not smell good, while lotus flowers have a beautiful fragrance. If there is no mud, the lotus cannot appear. You cannot grow lotus flowers on marble.Without mud, there can be no lotus.Of course, it is possible to get stuck in the “mud” of life.Sometimes it is very easy to realize that we are covered in mud. The most difficult practice is not to allow ourselves to be overcome by despair. When we are overwhelmed by despair, wherever we look, we see only suffering. We feel as though the worst possible thing is happening to us. But we must remember that suffering is a kind of mud that we need in order to generate joy and happiness.Without suffering, there is no happiness, so we should not be prejudiced against the mud.We must learn to embrace and cradle our own suffering, and the suffering of the world,

When you encounter people who ridicule you for escaping the technocratic age, take it as a sign either to keep your distance from them or, if you are able, to challenge their thinking psychologically, because they possess very little awareness. If you choose water from a well instead of water from pressurized pipes; if you read in the garden or simply stare into space instead of watching television; if you would rather fall asleep beneath the open sky than inside a concrete box, then you are closer to liberation than almost anyone else.People without a home are often lonely, yet they are also, in many cases, far more human than those who simply follow the crowd. There are so many facets to being human. Let us put aside our prejudices and fully accept those who have broken away. For they live within a world that the masses of today no longer know.@OnlyFaithOverFear

Excerpt from J.S. Bach’s Toccata, performed on the organ of the church in Waltershausen, Germany, by Hans-André Stamm.Excerpt from Nikola Tesla’s alleged 1899 interview, “All Is Light,” with John Smith:“Humanity is not ready for what is great and good. In Colorado Springs, I saturated the Earth with electricity... We can also harness other forms of energy, such as mental energy... We find it in the music of Bach or Mozart, or in the verses of the great poets...”@OnlyFaithOverFear
