And speaking of September 1st…My younger brother isn’t graduating yet — he just started 10th grade, so he’s already been through quite a few of these September 1st ceremonies.But apparently this year his school decided a normal celebration wasn’t enough😂They dressed him and some of his friends up in giant mascot costumes for the celebration.And now I have a little challenge for you:Guess which costume my brother is wearing😆😆😆I’ll show you the answer later👀

Today is September 1st in Russia — and if you’re outside right now, you can definitely tell😄🇷🇺September 1st is День знаний [Den’ znániy] — Knowledge Day, and traditionally it’s the first day of the school year.And it’s actually quite a big deal here.Russian schools have 11 grades, which means today is a very different day depending on which end of school you’re standing at🥹For первоклассники [pervokláсsniki] — first-graders, it’s their very first September 1st ever.New uniform, huge bouquets of flowers, nervous parents taking approximately 700 photos… 😂💐And for одиннадцатиклассники [adinnátsatiklássniki] — 11th-graders, it’s their last first day of school.That’s why one of my favourite traditions connects the youngest and the oldest students.During the school ceremony, an 11th-grade boy traditionally carries a first-grade girl on his shoulder while she rings a bigRussian with Anastasia Romanova

We use AI as much as needed, here in the US we’re relying on AI drastically almost in everything now and it’s giving us great results. Is not about laziness, but you’re using it as a creative resource: 1) saves time 2) finds the right words 3) explore alternatives…Russian with Anastasia Romanova

I also decided to experiment with a new format on Instagram 👀 check hereYou may have already seen my post about things you can do that will immediately make a Russian go: “NOOOO, DON’T DO THAT!” 😂Russian superstitions, weird little cultural rules, things Russians grew up hearing from parents and grandparents — but explained through illustrated situations.And somehow this innocent post started a whole debate in the comments🫠Not about Russian superstitions.About AI😅Someone basically told me that using AI-generated illustrations is lazy, that I’m not “using my brain,” and that AI art is stealing from real artists🤓And now I actually want to know what YOU think.Because from my side, the process looks very different.I come up with the topic myself. I decide what I want to teach and how I want to explain

Guys, hi 🫶🏼There’s a Russian expression: «смешались в кучу кони, люди» — literally, “horses and people all got mixed together” 😂And honestly, that’s exactly what this post is going to be: Georgia, my students, an apartment, my family, Russian superstitions and somehow… an argument about AI.So yes, horses and people 😆 But there’s no other way to explain where the hell I disappeared to🫣As you probably remember, first I went to Georgia with my family. And calling it a “vacation” might be slightly generous because we managed to pack approximately 847 things into those days 😂 But it was such a good trip🫰Then I came back home and pretty much immediately switched into teacher mode.The new students had just started the course, so I wanted to be there as much as possible — checking their work, giving detailed feedback, correcting mistakes,

Guys… how did I not know this existed? 😂For the last few days, my feed has been full of videos from Saint Petersburg, so I finally gave in and looked it up👀Turns out that on August 1st, the city hosted its annual Fontanka SUP Festival.And honestly… it might be one of the most unusual festivals I’ve ever seen😄Picture this:Thousands of people paddle through the canals of Saint Petersburg on SUP boards.Sounds fun already…But here’s the best part:Almost everyone is wearing a costume👻I saw pirates, giant ducks, movie characters, princesses, superheroes… even whole families dressed around the same theme🫢

One quick thing before I disappear👀Every launch, without fail, the same messages start coming in during the last few hours.“Which plan should I choose?”So if that’s where you’re stuck, don’t spend your evening comparing every feature on the page.Just message @russianromanovasupportI’ll ask you a couple of questions and tell you which option I’d go for.And no, the answer isn’t automatically VIP. Well… this is it🤍By tonight, enrollment is over.Every launch ends the same way for me. At first there’s all the excitement, the questions, the messages coming in every few minutes…And then I catch myself thinking, “Can we just start already?” 😄Because that’s my favorite part🐱Opening your first homework. Reading the questions you’re almost embarrassed to ask. Seeing someone who couldn’t even read the alphabet not that long ago suddenly put together their first sentence in Russian.I’ll leave the course link below for the last time today.If you’ve been opening it, closing it, and telling yourself “I’ll think about it tomorrow”… well, tomorrow won’t work this time🙂See you inside🤍Russian with Anastasia Romanova

One of the most common questions I get every launch is:“When will the next cohort open?”The answer is almost always the same.About six months later.But can I be honest?After almost 10 years of teaching, I’ve noticed something.The people who ask me “When is the next launch?” are very rarely asking about the launch🥺They’re asking for permission to postpone the decision.Because “next time” feels safe.“I’ll start after summer.” “I’ll start after Christmas.”

Alright, here’s the story 😅We’re off on another trip around Georgia!Yes, we were here two years ago, but this time we came for a Ricky Martin concert and decided to combine it with exploring the places we didn’t get to see last time.That doesn’t mean I’m postponing tomorrow’s course launch though. Everything is still going exactly as planned, and I’m just as involved in preparing the new cohort. I’d love to see you there! ☺️Just a reminder: I only open this course twice a year, so the next opportunity won’t be for another six months.
