Grace does not ask truth to become silent, and truth does not ask grace to leave the room. In Jesus Christ, the sinner meets both.Grace and truth are often separated in the way Christians deal with sin and with one another. Some speak about grace until repentance almost disappears while others defend truth in a way that leaves little room for mercy or restoration. Jesus was “full of grace and truth” John 1:14. Grace never required Him to pretend sin was harmless and truth never made Him eager to destroy the sinner. When the woman caught in adultery was brought before Him, He refused to join those who wanted her condemned, then told her, “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more” John 8:11. He gave her mercy without changing the truth about her life. This is what grace does. It meets a person where he really is, forgives what he cannot undo and teaches him to leave what wasSpirit Broods

🔥 The fear of God begins to govern a man when what God thinks becomes more important than what sin offers and what people think.God has become familiar to many believers. There is much talk about His love and presence but it is possible to speak warmly about God while becoming careless about what offends Him. When the fear of God becomes weak, boundaries begin to move and things that once troubled the conscience slowly become normal. “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil” Proverbs 8:13. Character should grow faster than gifts.There is a hunger for the power of God again. Men want to heal the sick, cast out demons, prophesy, preach with authority and see God do what human ability cannot do. That desire should not be killed. Jesus walked in power. The apostles did too. The early Church prayed for boldness and God answered them. But the desire to be used by God must never become greater than the desire to obey Him. A man can want greater anointing while giving little attention to his own life. He can want authority over demons while having little rule over his appetites. God cares about the vessel His power passes through.A gift can take a man into rooms his character is not ready to survive. Doors open, people honour him, money comes and his name becomes known. 🔥 The desire to be known has ruined many who first only wanted to be useful.It can begin with a sincere desire to serve God. A person wants the gospel to reach people and wants the gift God has given them to be useful. Then attention comes. People begin to notice the work, speak well of it and recognize the person behind it. Somewhere along the way, being useful can slowly become mixed with being known. John wrote about men who “loved the praise of men more than the praise of God” John 12:43. In its context, some among the rulers believed in Jesus but would not confess Him because they feared what it would cost them. The approval of people had become strong enough to affect their response to Christ.The desire to be known can change a person without changing the language they use. Holiness is not the deeper life for a few. Holiness is Christianity.Holiness has become optional in the minds of many Christians. It can sound like something for pastors, missionaries, intercessors or believers who want to go deeper with God. But Scripture does not speak that way. “As he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation” 1 Peter 1:15. The call is for every believer. Christ did not save a people who would simply believe the right things about Him while continuing to make peace with the sins He came to deliver them from.A person can leave obvious sins and still protect sin in the heart. 🔥 A closed Bible and an open screen will eventually decide which voice becomes strongest in you.A person can believe the Bible is the Word of God and still give very little attention to it. The day begins with a screen, spare moments return to it, and sometimes the Bible is opened only when there is something to post, teach, or look up. Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” Matthew 4:4. He was answering Satan in the wilderness, quoting what God had already taught Israel in Deuteronomy. God’s Word is not something to fit around the rest of life. It is necessary for life with Him.
