You are a different person in everybody’s story.To one person, you are the villain. To another, you are the hero.Someone remembers you as kind. Someone else remembers the one time you were harsh.One person thinks you are quiet and reserved. Another cannot imagine you ever being quiet.Some will judge you by the worst moment they saw from you. Others will love you because they happened to see a side of you nobody else did.And perhaps that is one of the exhausting things about this Dunya:You exist in the minds of so many people, each carrying their own version of you. Sometimes Shaytan does not need to stop you from doing good.He just needs to make the good get to your head.You never miss Fajr in the Masjid, and slowly you start looking down on the brother who does.You have memorised a lot of Qur’an, so the person who only knows a few short Surahs from Juz ‘Amma begins to seem lesser in your eyes.You attend Islamic lectures every week and start assuming that anyone who does not must not care much about seeking knowledge.You give in charity often, then wonder why other people are not as generous.You are always involved in Da‘wah, and without noticing it, you begin to feel as though you are doing more for Islam than everyone around you.But you do not know what Allah has opened for them.The brother struggling with Fajr may never miss his daily Qur’an.The person who has only memorised Surah al-Kawthar and Surah al-Ikhlas may stand inAMAU Official

WHEN SEEKING KNOWLEDGE EARNS YOU SINSWhat if Shaytan does not stop you from seeking knowledge...but uses your pursuit of knowledge to make you neglect what Allah has already made obligatory upon you?This is one of the more subtle traps for a student of knowledge.You attend lessons. Memorise Alfiyyaat. Take notes. Collect books until you have built a massive library. You discuss detailed matters of Fiqh, ‘Aqidah and Manhaj.All of that may be good.But while pursuing something virtuous, you may still be neglecting something Allah has already required from you.A sister may be eager to attend every class and Halaqah, yet begin neglecting the rights of her husband. Hours go into studying beneficial knowledge, while her children receive less of the attention, nurturing and Tarbiyah they need from her.And Shaytan makes it sound noble:“But you are studying Allah’s Deen!”AMAU Official

Not Everything You Want Is Owed to You.Entitlement is a dangerous mindset, and it is becoming common with the younger generation.“I deserve a better salary.” “I deserve more respect.” “My parents should understand me.” “My community should give me opportunities.” “My teachers should give me their time.”And sometimes, some of those things may be true.But we have become very good at asking: “What are my rights?”, and very bad at answering: “What are my responsibilities?”We want the position before proving ourselves. The salary before developing the skill. Respect before earning trust.We expect our parents or spouses to fulfil our rights without thinking about what we owe them.We want the community to serve us, but rarely stop to ask how we can serve the community.
