💦 Mercedes' electric G-Class could learn to swim📰 Mercedes-Benz has filed a patent for a system that would let its two-axle off-roader (widely assumed to be the electric G-Class) float and travel across water.How it works: 🔹 Removable inflatable or foam inserts hide inside the wheel arches for buoyancy, with volume adjustable per corner to balance uneven loads or currents; 🔹 The steerable wheels double as rudders; 🔹 The G 580's four independent electric motors vary torque per wheel and even spinning them in opposite directions to steer and help the vehicle climb back onto shore; 🔹 Inserts could even be stored in the spare-wheel recess and inflated using the car's own tire compressor.😁 No production plans are attached yet as it's just a pure patent filing, but the GTA "floating car" cheat code might not be pure fantasy for much longer.@Car_News
