#bluesrock 2004 Today we’re starting a series of quick roundups by years, featuring 33 tracks from each. The rotation period on our site will be 25 days. We’re moving further and further away from the 2000s, which had a lot of interesting things to offer. First up on the list is 2004. In this year, blues rock evolved at the intersection of the garage revival, hard-hitting electro-blues, and veterans returning to their roots. What was new wasn’t the emergence of a single genre breakthrough, but a fresh synthesis of raw garage sound and classic blues energy. The overview, chart, and text-based playlist are already on the site. We’ll soon upload a couple of songs on the Blues Rock Charts channel to deepen your knowledge of 2004 blues rock scene. We added the year of 2024 with 35 tracks for almost 3 hours long and updated the playlist by new entries from the years 2015 thru 2023. Unlike August, September isn’t expected to be quite as packed. Most coverage will take place on our two archive channels. We’ll be wrapping up our encyclopedic series on the key moments of this century—this time, covering 2006. In the entire history of our channel, this is the only year that hasn’t been entirely reviewed. In addition, we’ll launch a review of 1998. The date isn’t so much an anniversary as it is a symbolic one. We’ve already noted that every 28 years, the calendar tends to repeat itself down to the exact days of the week. Only the year changes. In relation to 2026, it will be 1998. So, if you happen to have a 1998 calendar lying around, feel free to hang it on the wall. #50shadesnumberone 2026. Today is Friday. Since around the end of May, a wide range of people have been encouraging us to launch a playlist featuring the songs we’ve ever placed at number one in our various playlists at some point this year. The exciting thing is that, in reality, we always calibrate the top 20 in each playlist. It’s a slightly complicated topic, since out of the 32 playlists currently on the 50 Shades of Blues Rock channel, we change them on average 3–8 times a year. We jumped on the idea. And today we’re launching the first edition of 50 Shades Top Number Ones 2026, based on data as of August 1, 2026. The only channel that’s an exception is “Blues Rock 2026.” That’s a whole different story with its own unique approach. Let’s go! Get started, folks.
