September SAT results are out, and I know some of you are probably disappointed.Maybe you expected a higher score. Maybe your practice tests were better. Maybe you opened the score report, saw a 1350 or 1430, and immediately started thinking that top universities are now out of reach.They’re not. I see this every year. Students get a score they don’t like in August or September, panic for a few days, and then end up scoring 1500+ on a later test.Your September score does not have to be your final score. Colleges care about your best result. November is still ahead, many universities accept November SAT scores, and if you’re applying Regular Decision, you have even more time.And improving from the 1300s/1400s to 1500+ usually means you're familiar with the content already. At that level, it’s often a few specific problems like timing, careless mistakes, weak question types, or losing focus with test anxiety.Those things can be fixed. So if you’re unhappy with your score, don’t spend the next week staring at it. Look at what went wrong, make a proper plan, and start preparing for November.P.S. Congratulations to everyone who got 1500+!But if you didn’t quite get it yet. It’s totally fine. Borte (B&S Academy’s Harvard Admit from Kazakhstan) got her 1500+ in November!There’s still hope. Lock in for the October session. August SAT results will be out tomorrowIt's a common thing to look at the August SAT exam as the last push before getting into Early Decision applications and essays, which puts pressure on applicants. It's even more pressure for students who sat the SAT exam for the first time. In moments like this, when you think your "make or break" will be decided today, it's very important to be prepared for everything and have a plan for the worst case scenario. If you couldn't do it in August, October will come (or September if you registered), it doesn't matter. If August doesn't work out, go for the next date, but don't abandon the idea of applying. Reasonably, you only need IELTS 5.5 for University but you have dreamed of getting a 8 and suffered through each practice test with that mindset. So, when you get a 7, you know you did a good job. Everyone tells you, you are smart and have achieved something. But deep down you know you worked for the 8. Davis Hume labeled this centuries ago. Reason is and ought to be slave of the passions.
