At the same time, mining economics improved slightly: average USD hashprice rose 2.8% to $31.21 per PH/s/day.One of the most interesting developments was network difficulty.Bitcoin difficulty fell twice during July: • -5.0% on July 11 • -0.74% on July 25Together, that brought difficulty down by 5.71% over the month.And this is a good reminder of how mining cycles actually work.When BTC price falls or operating costs rise, less efficient miners start shutting machines down. Hashrate declines. The Bitcoin protocol then adjusts difficulty downward, making mining easier for the operators that remain online.Margins improve.
