Living off-grid is tough.Tonight the temperature dropped to 4°C (39°F), and our jungle mountain house isn't exactly well insulated. I wake up making firewood and go to bed after making firewood.During the day I take care of the chickens, work in the garden, fix things (there's always something to fix), prepare food, and spend whatever time is left either trolling on X or writing my book.Sure, life would probably be less exhausting if I just drove to the supermarket, watched Netflix every night in a perfectly climate-controlled apartment, and ate Papa John's.But it would also be a lot less fulfilling.

I was once invited to be part of a “free speech” organization. Sounded great. Until I actually spoke freely.I criticized someone they supported. Politely. With facts. I was told I could continue, of course, that I had “freedom of speech”, but it might have “consequences.” That was their warning. Then I got kicked out.These are the same people who publicly preach 100% commitment to free expression. Turns out, it only applies if you say the right things.And it’s not just them. Across the board, “free speech” has become a hollow slogan. Pro-Israel groups keep publicly supporting liberty and rights, until someone criticizes Israel. Then it’s censorship, blacklists, deportation threats, accusations of extremism, etc. Same with gender ideology. Same with vaccines. Same with anything that challenges their tribe.Now the U.S. is pushing laws that would literally criminalize certainDr. Simon

There’s a certain type of person today who needs to be afraid. Whether it’s COVID, climate change, or whatever crisis the media engineers next. Fear gives them purpose. It gives them an identity.They don’t want freedom. They want nannies, governments, authorities; someone to tell them what to fear, when to hide, what to inject, what to eat, what to think.Decades of fluoride in the water, glyphosate in the food, and missing EPA and DHA from their brains have dulled their ability to reason. Critical thinking has been replaced with slogans. Curiosity has been replaced with compliance.They now proudly identify as anything but sovereign individuals: barn animals, drones, mascots of a system that sees them only as cattle to be herded.They don’t reject proof because they’re ignorant. They reject it because fear feels safer than freedom. It’s the only language they still understand.And

IT WAS A SYMPTOM OF A BROKEN SYSTEM.Let me explain how "science" actually works today.THROWBACK: There was a time, not long ago, when scientists got hired by universities or research institutes for life. They had true academic freedom. They could set their own hypotheses, freely choose research topics, question established theories, and be as critical as necessary without fear of losing their career.NOWADAYS: Today, if you're a young and ambitious scientist, everything is different. You only get temporary contracts, typically tied to research projects that last 3 to 4 years and usually have to find your own funding by writing research proposals.Unfortunately, writing such a proposal today isn't just about good science.
