🇮🇷/🇺🇸‼️The Shockwaves of Iran’s Power Projection in the Strait of Hormuz Are Now Becoming Visible in the United States!The Trump administration is considering a plan to impose a 90-day ban on U.S. diesel exports in an effort to bring down domestic fuel prices, which have surged to record levels amid the war with Iran and disruptions to global supply chains.➡️ The news, first reported by Politico, cites five people familiar with the discussions and indicates that the White House intends to finalize the ban by the end of the week, although the legal mechanism for implementing it remains unclear.👉 Meanwhile, the U.S. oil industry has warned that the ban could have severe consequences for international supply chains, agriculture, and transportation by removing the world’s largest diesel-exporting source from the global market.The unprecedented rise in U.S. diesel prices is directly linked to the war with Iran and the resulting disruptions, including Iran’s control of the Strait of Hormuz and, now, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Since the conflict began in late February, U.S. retail diesel prices have crossed the $6-per-gallon mark for the first time, reaching an average of $6.52 per gallon on September 23, up from $3.69 a year earlier — a 76% increase. The war has sharply reduced diesel exports from the Persian Gulf, particularly from Saudi Arabia and the UAE, while Russian exports have also been constrained by Ukrainian attacks on refineries. Despite U.S. refineries operating near maximum capacity, domestic diesel inventories remain around 15% below the five-year average, and analysts expect supply shortages to persist into 2027.#Iran #US #Oil
