White Pill Wednesday 🤍While filming BBC's Dynasties in Antarctica in 2018, a camera crew faced one of the toughest rules in wildlife filmmaking: observe nature, but don't interfere. After a brutal storm, around 50 emperor penguins and their chicks became trapped in a steep icy ravine. The birds repeatedly struggled to climb out, and some chicks had already frozen to death in temperatures reported as low as -50°C (-76°F)Eventually, the crew decided they couldn't simply keep filming. Rather than physically handling the penguins, they dug a small stepped ramp into the ice and then backed away, giving the animals the choice to use it themselves. The penguins eventually climbed the makeshift escape route and made their way out.Muscular Christianity
