Winter FindingThe growing season is drawing to a close, and there are signs that winter is on its way. Have you noticed them?Vetrnætr, or “Winter Nights,” is the official start of the winter half of the year according to our ancient Heathen customs. New lyre, crafted for Dan Capp of Wolcensmen/The Fyrgen. Sitka Spruce Toredo floatlog soundboard on Black Walnut body. This type of soundboard naturally has holes caused by woodworms, a type of mullusk found in the Pacific Ocean. The back is bookmatched Black Walnut. Sides are bookmatched and steam bent, with kirfing for structural support. The end tailpiece anchor is ancient walrus ivory, the bridge is mammoth ivory. This lyre also features guitar tuning pegs rather than zither pins, eliminating the need for a separate tuning key. This also makes tuning more precise and consistent. The strings are Aquila "nylgut" harp strings from Italy.

Today the news is buzzing about a topic we talked about in June, namely the Representative Thomas Massie issued articles of impeachment on Peter Hegseth. Though this may not succeed in the US congress, it is a positive nonetheless.Hegseth has stated, according to whistle-blowers, that he pushed for the iran war specifically to, "start a biblical 'holy war' intended to hasten the 'Armageddon' & the return of jesus christ." In other words, Hegseth, as a judeo-christian, doesn't just want this war on behalf of israel, but also to kill all life on Earth so he can fulfill prophecy.The articles of impeachment aren't about saving all life from christian evil, which should be concerning to everyone; what it does show is the christian nationalist sect of American politics is losing it's grip on power, as even their own are turning against them. Good day Raven Folk! Raven Folk United operates without required membership fees or dues. That approach keeps the community accessible, but it also means the cost of operating falls entirely on voluntary support of our members. Our events require real resources. Securing locations, maintaining sites, acquiring supplies, and organizing gatherings all carry financial cost. These events are where people come together to build connections, share meals, and take part in group activities. None of that happens without planning, coordination, and funding. Donations go directly toward making these events possible and sustaining the basic functions that keep the organization running. There are two options: recurring contributions for ongoing support, or one-time donations to one of our funds (ᛟ-Othala fund for land, ᚾ-Nauthiz fund for those in need, Events fund, and General fund). Like many ancestral faiths, Germania has a multitude of afterlife destinations, though the vast majority go to Hel's domain. When a Germanic dies, no matter where they are destined, there is a journey to and a judgement at Urd's Well. Some escorted by the Valkyries, while many dont have this take place. Upon the judgement a destination is given to the dead. Specifically for those who die in battle there are three main destinations:Valholl: As stated before, this is the residence for the private army of the God Odin's chosen.
