Palestinians across Gaza City reported an intense, foul odour spreading through homes and tents overnight, prompting many to search for its source.People described experiencing the same smell from the eastern neighbourhoods of Tuffah and Daraj to Beit Lahia in the west, with reports that Israeli aircraft dropped hundreds of balloons carrying the odour across populated areas.

The sale of Israel Bonds in the European Economic Area (EEA) has ended following the expiration of their financial prospectus on 31 August 2026.To be sold in the EEA, Israel Bonds require approval from an EU member state. Ireland served as the home state since 2021. Following public pressure regarding Israel's actions in Gaza, the Central Bank of Ireland transferred the prospectus to Luxembourg in 2025. In July 2026, Luxembourg's regulator refused to approve the prospectus for another year after mobilization by civil society and legal experts.Amnesty International welcomed the decision. Europe Director Steve Cockburn called it a "testament to indefatigable campaigners" and noted that states must act to prevent complicity in international crimes.
