Dear Reiner, the fact that you are still imprisoned—that you are imprisoned at all—is a thought that is hard to bear. I can only imagine what it must be like for you, but you are the one who truly knows the reality of it. An experience like this leaves its mark on a person, especially when it is a matter of utter injustice. I fervently hope you keep holding on, and I hope the knowledge that we are thinking of you—and that there are people fighting for you—offers you some measure of comfort and strength. I highly doubt the addressees will even read it. Perhaps a good number of ordinary members of the public will, though.
