Ruling on Offering Jumuʿah Prayer When Coinciding With The Day of ʿEid - Sheikh Ibn Bāzالسؤال: ما حكم صلاة الجمعة إذا صادفت يوم العيد؟ هل تجب إقامتها على جميع المسلمين، أم على فئةٍ معينة، ذلك أن بعض الناس يعتقد أنه إذا صادف العيد الجمعة، فلا جمعة إذاً؟ Question: What's the ruling on performing Jumuʿah prayer if it coincides with the day of ʿEid? Is it mandatory upon every Muslim to perform it, or just for a specific group of people? That's because some people think that if ʿEid coincides with Jumuʿah, then there's no Jumuʿah prayer.الشيخ: الواجب على إمام الجمعة وخطيبها أن يقيم الجمعة، Sheikh: It's mandatory upon the Imām of the Jumuʿah (prayer) and the Khaṭīb (the one delivering the sermon) to perform the Jumuʿah prayerوأن يحضر في المسجد ويصلي بمن حضر، And to attend in the masjid and pray with those who are present.كان النبي يقيمها ﷺ في يوم العيد، يصلي العيد ويصلي الجمعة عليه

Reasons for not having Khushu and its cure - Sheikh Ibn Bazالسؤال: أنا شابٌّ أحاول إذا كنتُ أقرأ القرآن أو أُصلي أو أتذكر حال المسلمين أن أبكي، ولكن لا أستطيع، فما أسباب ذلك؟ وما العلاج؟Question: I am a young man who tries to cry when I read the Qur'an, pray, or remember the state of the Muslims. However, I am unable to do so. What are the reasons for this, and what is the remedy? الجواب: لهذا أسبابٌ كثيرةٌ، عدم البكاء له أسبابٌ، منها: Answer: There are many reasons for this, not being able to cry has reasons, Among them:قسوة القلوب بسبب المعاصي والذنوب، فإنَّ القلوب إذا قست قلَّت دمعةُ العين، The hardness of the heart due to disobedience and sins. How to Deal With Those Who Describe The Sunnah With Extremism - Sheikh Ibn Bazالسؤال: من تمسك بالسنة كما ينبغي؛ قَصَّر ثوبه وأعفى لحيته، كثير من المسلمين يقولون عنه: هذا متشدد وهذا متزمت وهذا كذا وكذا، ماذا يكون موقف الإنسان؟ Question: Whoever adheres to the Sunnah as it has been legislated; shortens his garment and lets his beard grow. Many Muslims will say: This one is extreme, this one is a fundamentalist, and this one is such-and-such. What position should a person take?الجواب: لا يبالي بهم، يقول: هذه السنة، والله يهديكم، Answer: He should not be bothered by them. The Salaf are the Ahlus Sunnah - Sheikh Ibn Bazالسؤال: هل هناك فرق بين قولنا: هذا قول السلف، أو هذا قول أهل السنة؟ Question: Is there a difference between us saying: "This is the saying of the Salaf" or "This is the saying of Ahlus Sunnah?"الجواب: المعنى واحد، السلف هم أهل السنة وهم الصحابة رضي الله عنهم وأتباعهم بإحسان، Answer: The meaning is one, The Salaf are Ahl as-sunnah, and they are the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) and those who followed them in righteousness.يقال لهم السلف الصالح، ويقال لهم: أهل السنة والجماعة، They are called As-salaf as-Salih (pious predecessors), and they are also called as Ahl as-Sunnah wa al-Jamā'ah.فإذا أراد ذلك فلا حرج، So, if he (the one saying this) intends this, then there is no problem.العبارة واحدة، أهل السنة والجماعة، السلف الصالح، The wording is the same, Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamā'ah and As-salaf as-sālih.والمراد بهذا عند أهل

Teaching Iman Before Teaching the Qur'an - Sheikh Ibn Bazالسؤال: ما معنى قول الصحابي: "كنا نُؤتى الإيمان قبل القرآن"؟Question: What is the meaning of the saying of the Sahābī (Companion of the Prophet ﷺ) "We were given Imān before the Qur'ān"?الجواب: معناه: الإيمان بالله، يعني: الإيمان بالله وتوحيده، Answer: Its meaning: Imān in Allah, meaning - Imān in Allah and making Tawhīd of Him.فهم يُعلَّمون ويدعوهم النبيُّ ﷺ ويُؤمنون بالله ورسوله قبل أن يتعلَّموا، قبل أن يقرؤوا القرآن، So, they were taught, the Prophet ﷺ called them, and they believed in Allah and His Messenger before they learnt - before they read/recited the Qur’ān.فإن قول "لا إله إلا الله" هذا هو مبدأ الإيمان، النبيُّ يقول لهم: قولوا: لا إله إلا الله تُفْلِحوا ويدعوهم إلى هذا، So, indeed the saying: Lā ilāha Illa Allah, this is the starting point of Imān.
