It is reported that Sahl ibn Abdullah at-Tustari رحمه الله stated:"There are only 3 people that long for death: A man that is ignorant of what comes after death, a man fleeing from what Allah has ordained for him, or the one who yearns and loves to meet Allah, the Exalted and Majestic."Mentioned by as-Suyūti in Sharh as-Sudūr as well as by al-Qurtubi in at-Tadhkirahوروي عن سهل بن عبد الله التستري أنه قال: لا يتمنى الموت إلا ثلاثة: رجل جاهل بما بعد الموت، أو رجل يفرّ من أقدار الله تعالى عليه، أو مشتاق محبّ للقاء الله عزّ وجلذكر السيوطي في شرح الصدور ص ٤٠Women of Dawah Salafiyyah

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆It is reported that Ya’lā b. ‘Ubayd said, “We entered upon Ibn Sūqah, who said: ‘O nephew, let me relate to you something that will hopefully benefit you; for it benefited me. ‘Atā b. Tawhid is the Most Trustworthy HandholdAllah's statement,﴿ فَمَن يَكۡفُرۡ بِٱلطَّـٰغُوتِ وَيُؤۡمِنۢ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدِ ٱسۡتَمۡسَكَ بِٱلۡعُرۡوَةِ ٱلۡوُثۡقَىٰ لَا ٱنفِصَامَ لَهَاۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ ﴾(Whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower) is in reference to, "Whoever shuns the rivals of Allah, the idols, and those that Shaytan calls to be worshipped besides Allah, whoever believes in Allah's Oneness, worships Him alone and testifies that there is no deity worthy of worship except Him, then﴿ فَقَدِ ٱسۡتَمۡسَكَ بِٱلۡعُرۡوَةِ ٱلۡوُثۡقَىٰ ﴾ (then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold.)Therefore, this person will have acquired firmness )in the religion( and proceeded on the correct way and the straight path.▪︎ Abu Al-Qasim Al-Baghawi recordedWomen of Dawah Salafiyyah

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَبُو الْمُنْذِرِ الطُّفَاوِيُّ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الأَعْمَشِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُجَاهِدٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِمَنْكِبِي فَقَالَ "كُنْ فِي الدُّنْيَا كَأَنَّكَ غَرِيبٌ، أَوْ عَابِرُ سَبِيلٍ" . وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ إِذَا أَمْسَيْتَ فَلاَ تَنْتَظِرِ الصَّبَاحَ، وَإِذَا أَصْبَحْتَ فَلاَ تَنْتَظِرِ الْمَسَاءَ، وَخُذْ مِنْ صِحَّتِكَ لِمَرَضِكَ، وَمِنْ حَيَاتِكَ لِمَوْتِكَ.Narrated Mujahid: Abdullah bin Umar said, "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) took hold of my shoulder and said, 'Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler." The sub-narrator added: Ibn Umar used to say, "If you survive till the evening, do not expect to be alive in the morning, and if you survive till the morning, do not expect to be alive inWomen of Dawah Salafiyyah
