Telegram gifts launch

On 5 October 2024 Telegram let people send each other gifts paid for in Stars: a piece of animated artwork with a message, which the recipient either keeps on their profile or converts back into Stars. Everything built on gifts since then dates from that day — gift mini apps, the resale market, and Stars as the currency they are bought with.
