- What is this catalogue?
- Public Telegram channels and chats, each with its own page: subscriber or member count, bio, recent posts and rename history. The catalogue is split by language, topic, country and city.
- Where do the subscriber counts and avatars come from?
- From the public t.me pages — the same ones anyone sees without an account. Counts refresh as the catalogue is swept, and avatars are stored on our side rather than loaded from Telegram's servers.
- How is a channel different from a chat?
- In a channel the owner posts and readers subscribe. In a chat every member writes. We take the room type from its t.me page: a channel shows "subscribers", a chat shows "members".
- How is a channel's language decided?
- From its own text — name, bio and posts. The channel shows its language; we only read it.
- How does a channel end up under a city or country?
- When the place is named in its title or bio. A place gets its own page once it has enough live rooms: chats with people online during the past week and channels that posted during the past month.
- How do I find a channel?
- With the search at the top of the page: it looks through handles, titles and bios across the whole catalogue. You can also open a shelf — a language, a topic or a city.
