Allah سبحانه وتعالى says:وَمَا هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا لَهْوٌۭ وَلَعِبٌۭ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلدَّارَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ لَهِىَ ٱلْحَيَوَانُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ“And this life of the world is only amusement and play! Verily, the home of the Hereafter, that is the life indeed (i.e. the eternal life that will never end), if they but knew.” — Sūrat al-ʿAnkabūt 29:64That is the life indeed. This world is the place of preparation and the Hereafter is the destination. Here is the place of deeds, and there is the place of recompense. Here you can repent; there you will only wish you had repented. Here you can make another sajdah, give another charity, seek forgiveness once more and repair what is between you and Allah. Mawlid, the Night Journey and other celebrations in Islam.There is no celebration for “The night journey (from Makkah to Jerusalem and/or the ascension of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم to the heavens.” Belief in its occurrence is known and is obligatory however there is nothing authentically reported regarding its celebration by the Prophet nor the pious predecessors - our excellent examples. The night journey truly happened, it is mentioned in the two truths - The Quran and the statements of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, the two authentic sources of Islam. Likewise and very similar to the celebration of the mawlid, we know for a fact that the Prophet was born (May peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family), however, it is not the occurrence that is in question, it is the celebration of the events.
