Alhamdulillah for another personal milestone! 🤍Reading seems to hate me every time I sit the IELTS exam. I don’t know why, but what I do know is that I’ve felt a 9.0 in every section at some point. Some people think that secondary school students should study international news as one of their subjects, while others believe that this is a waste of valuable school time. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.It is believed that international news should be taught to secondary school students, while others hold the opposite view, arguing that introducing such a subject is unnecessary. Acknowledging both views, I contend that international news does not have to be taught as another subject as it can be embedded into the existing ones.On the one hand, teaching students international news can raise awareness. Since teachers explain not only current affairs but also the root causes of the currect political tensions or instabilities as well as how these problems could be avoided, young individuals can develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and empathy from an early age.
