☀️SELF-ENQUIRY - NATURE & PURPOSE☀️🌿Karshni: What is the nature of Self-enquiry? What is its purpose? Is there any greater good obtainable by other means?🌿Bhagavan: The ‘I’-thought is said to be the sum-total of all thoughts. The source of the ‘I’-thought has to be enquired into.🌿This is Self-enquiry, and not the study of scriptures [alone]. When the source is searched for, the ego gets merged in it.🌿When the ego, which is mere reflection of the Self, totally disappears, what remains is the true Self alone in all its plenitude and perfection.🌿The result of Self-enquiry is freedom from all suffering. ✨☀️SHUBH GANESHA CHATURTHI☀️✨On a Ganesh Chaturthi day in 1912, a potter came to the Virupaksha cave with a small image of Sri Ganesha that he had made and presented it to Bhagavan Sri Ramana.A disciple suggested that both he and Sri Bhagavan should write a verse to celebrate the occasion, and this is what Sri Bhagavan wrote :-"Him, who begot you as a child, you made into a beggar; as a child yourself, You then lived everywhere just to support Your own huge belly. 🍂My life with Bhagavan taught me the value of faith, obedience and surrender. When I obeyed Bhagavan's words, or had complete faith that he would look after all my spiritual and physical needs, everything went well. When I tried to mould my own destiny (such as the time I went to live in the cave and the time I ran away to Polur) things went badly. Life's lessons have thus taught me the value and the necessity of complete surrender. If one surrenders completely to Bhagavan; if one lives by his words, ignoring all others; if one has enough faith in Bhagavan to stop making plans about the future; if one can banish all doubts and worries by having faith in Bhagavan's omnipotence then, and only then, Bhagavan will bend and mould one's circumstances, transforming them in such a way that one's spiritual and physical needs are always satisfied.~Annamalai

☀️CONSTANT MEDITATION☀️As for happiness, it is one's essential nature. All suffering and misery pertain only to the body. If you do not identify yourself with the body, then the problem is not there. Remember that the next breath may be your last and so, focus all your energies on self-inquiry.Unless your spiritual practices are constant and steady, the tendency for action or inaction will gain the upper hand. You should, by effort counter these tendencies and try to remain in a state of equilibrium. In such a state, there is only peace and perfect contentment. ☀️ Whether you continue in the household, or renounce it and go to the forest, your mind haunts you. The ego is the source of thoughts. It creates the body and the world and makes you think you are a grihasta. If you renounce the world, it will only substitute the thought sanyasi for grihasta and the environments of the forest for those of the household. But the mental obstacles are always there. They even increase in new surroundings. There is no help in the change of environment. The obstacle is the mind. It must be got over whether at home or in the forest. If you can do it in the forest, why not in the home? Therefore why change the environment?
