How do I make my own stickers?

Two ways. Inside Telegram: the sticker panel has an editor that cuts a sticker out of a photo. Or through the @Stickers bot — its mini app or the /newpack, /newanimated and /newvideo commands. A static sticker is a PNG or WEBP, 512 pixels on the long side.

How do I publish a sticker pack?

@Stickers publishes it: a finished pack gets a t.me/addstickers/<name> link that adds it in one tap — for example, t.me/addstickers/Bunnyta. Show the stickers and talk them over in the @tongentlemens chat. A pack enters the gramnews catalogue on its own once channels start linking to it.

What is .TGS and what are its requirements?

.TGS is Telegram's animated sticker format: a Lottie animation (JSON), gzipped. Canvas 512×512, up to 3 seconds, 60 frames per second, file up to 64 KB, looped. It is made in Adobe After Effects with the Bodymovin-TG plugin, and some features are forbidden: expressions, masks, layer effects, images, text, 3D layers, Merge Paths, star shapes, gradient strokes, repeaters, time stretching and time remapping. How many sticker packs does Telegram itself make?

Telegram released its first set on 2 January 2015, together with the sticker platform — 14 stickers drawn in-house. Animated stickers opened on 6 July 2019 with four sets by Telegram's artists: Bunnyta, OfficeTurkey, ResistanceDog and MelieTheCavy. For premium emoji it made 10 packs at the 2022 launch. Everything else is sets by authors, published through @Stickers.
