Sold for $220,000 — a car that doesn’t exist This car went under the hammer as an “E62 AMG” — a super rare tuning package on the W124, supposedly only two ever built in the world. We looked at it once and saw the problem right away: Brabus brakes, Brabus exhaust — not AMG parts. Not a single AMG code anywhere on the car. Even the inspector at the auction crossed out the “AMG” claim on the sheet and wrote that there are no documents to prove it. Yes, it has a 6.2-liter engine. That part is real. But an engine is not a history. A “unique AMG” and “a car with a big engine and an AMG look but zero paperwork” are two different cars — and two very different prices. Someone wanted to sell a plain frankenbuild — a clone stitched together from parts of different brands — as a unique legend. And they sold it. Someone else wanted to own something exclusive, but you can’t really call this car
