Reflections for the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time+ In today’s parable, workers hired at different times all receive the same full wage. What would I say if I were one of those who started in the morning?++ God’s fairness is never separated from His mercy. His grace looks at our hearts, not the hours. Will I be generous with my love, patience and time for my family, friends and neighbours?+++ I am often tempted to compare myself, even in my spiritual journey, with others and become jealous of their blessings. But Jesus reminds me that God sees my heart and gives generously beyond measure. Reflections for 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time+ When I become offended by someone, especially in an unjustified way, anger and blame can quickly arise as strong temptations. My natural sense of being right often takes over, and I find myself thinking of a response rooted in judgement rather than compassion. But in today’s Gospel, what is the better path that Jesus offers?++ Resentment born of sin is often present in our closest relationships. Who is that person in my family, friend, neighbour or church member that I need to seek reconciliation with?+++ Jesus is asking me to forgive those who have sinned against me, and to also seek repentance of the sins that I have inflicted on others through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Will I forgive and seek reconciliation or continue to hold on to the false sense of comfort that anger and resentment may seem to bring?Let us reflect…#COTT
