I’ve just started reading When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi. For some reason, I expected something slightly different. I thought it would be more philosophical and perhaps a little easier to read. And it is deeply philosophical, but in a much more personal and painful way than I imagined. It’s a book about life and death, medicine, the future we think we have, and what happens when that future suddenly changes. There are so many thoughts that make you stop reading for a moment and just sit with them. I find it incredibly interesting, and I definitely want to finish it. But I’m also beginning to realise that this is not a book you can read casually. It requires a certain amount of emotional energy. And I don’t think I have much of that energy left today. So I’m putting it down for tonight and I’ll come back to it tomorrow. Sometimes a book can be exactly the right book, but

A little story about my trip :)Guys, I have a little story from my recent trip. I flew to visit my mum for just two days, so it was a very short trip, but we managed to make the most of it. We went for lovely walks, talked a lot, spent time together and generally had a really nice couple of days. Of course, things didn’t go completely according to plan. On my way back, my flight was delayed, so I ended up getting home later than I’d expected. Luckily, it wasn’t a big deal, just a slightly longer journey than I’d planned.But there was another little problem. We walked quite a lot during those two days, and unfortunately, my shoes rubbed my feet. At some point, I realised I desperately needed a pair of socks to make walking a little more comfortable, so we went into a shop to buy some. Now, here’s the funny part. I have really small feet and actually wear a children’s shoe size. And
