On Thursday, 2 April 2026, the Digital Concert Hall presents an evening with Sir Simon Rattle and Artist in Residence Janine Jansen. Jansen opened her residency with Prokofiev’s First Violin Concerto, known for its clean contrast and unusual slow–fast–slow structure. Rattle follows with John Adams’ Harmonielehre, now 40 years old and still striking in its mix of rhythmic drive and luminous harmony. Percy Grainger’s Lincolnshire Posy rounds off the programme with direct, characterful folk writing.

The Goethe-Institut in Sub-Sahara Africa, together with the Goethe-Institut Khartoum (currently in exile in Cairo), is launching Networks of Belonging — an initiative to support Sudanese artists who had to leave their country due to the ongoing war.🎨 Sudanese visual artists based in Ethiopia, South Sudan, Rwanda, Kenya, or Uganda are invited to submit proposals for exhibitions.
