In a rare occurrence, Israeli commandos apprehended a senior member of the Palestinian Authority's security services during a raid in the West Bank overnight.Palestinian media reported earlier that Israeli forces arrested Majdi Amer, a colonel in the Palestinian Authority’s Preventive Security Service, in the village of Kafr Qallil, south of Nablus.In statement, the police say that undercover Border Police officers raided Kafra Qalil overnight and apprehended a "wanted operative in the Fatah terror group."The wanted Palestinian is suspected of advancing terror activities, the police say."The undercover forces entered the village in disguise and reached the compound where the wanted man was residing," police say.The officers surrounded the building and carried out a tactic known as "pressure cooker" to flush the suspect out. Fourteen Israeli settlement activists illegally crossed the border into Syria a short while ago, before being returned to Israel by the IDF, the latest in a series of such incidents.The military says the 14 Israelis arrived near the border community of Alonei Habashan and crossed into Syria.IDF troops who were dispatched to the scene located the activists, returned them to Israeli territory, and detained them, the military says, adding that they were handed over to the police for further handling.The activists are members of the Bashan Pioneers group, which calls for establishing settlements in southern Syria. The Israeli government’s official public mapping site, govmap, recently uncensored previously blurred sections of the Gaza Strip, revealing the locations of military positions in high definition.The findings were first made on Monday by @Stinky915846091, a social media account dedicated to open-source intelligence, especially geo-locating incidents in the Gaza Strip.Previously, govmap.gov.il would censor and blur all portions of the Gaza Strip in its aerial imagery, right up until the Israeli security fence.
