Cole) use that case to compel the government to produce materials (that would not otherwise be available) for a separate but related civil case in which they are also defense attorneys (Kerkhoff v. I was thinking last night about how we regulate (or don’t regulate) products that can do both good and harm.Matches. Lightbulbs. Food with peanuts. Glue. Detergents. Graphic material.For so many of these, we simply add a warning label.The label tells the consumer what the risks are:- Made in a facility that processes nuts - Do not inhale. Use in a well-ventilated area. - Bulb gets very hot when in use. - Choking hazard. Small parts. Ages 5 and up - Rated R for violence, language, and nudity - Wear hearing protection. - Never leave unattended. - Do not ingest - Made in ChinaAnd many more.

I think the 9/11 memorial turned out remarkably well considering the challenges it faced: turning a gravesite for 3,000 people into a solemn place for families to visit and honor their memory, while also accommodating a new tower and a museum to preserve the history—plus all the usual difficulties of building anything this large in Manhattan.What we wish was there were two towers rebuilt, or at least the FEELING that they have been.Everything else is there and well done (minus the political nonsense that is in the museum, which fails to adequately address the causes and motivations of the 19 hijackers and those who backed them).But it doesn’t feel like we rebuilt what was once there. Update on federal criminal probe into Fulton County's handling of the 2020 election.Earlier this year, Dan Bishop, the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina and one of at least two U.S. Attorneys empowered by the Attorney General to conduct the probe, sought the contact information and job descriptions of hundreds of people (possibly more than a thousand) who worked for, contracted with, or volunteered for Fulton County in the 2020 election.Fulton County fought the subpoena and won. A district judge quashed it last month. (See this post- https://t.me/realjust_human/18106 )Bishop has now filed an appeal with the 11th Circuit.I do not expect the appeal to work, by the way.The better course is probably to seek a new subpoena that is much narrower in scope and grounded in the same probable cause that the other U.S. Attorney working this probe, Missouri U.S.
