+888 numbers in Telegram profiles are now labeled «коллекционный номер» (the Russian translation for "collectible number") instead of «анонимный номер» (the Russian translation for "anonymous number"). The string was changed on October 12 on the Telegram translation platform for iOS, as well as for Android and Telegram Web K. The Russian translation was updated on October 13. Fragment, where these numbers are sold, switched to the word «collectible» back in summer 2025.
What Changed in the Apps
The label appears below the number in a user's profile if the number was purchased on Fragment. It was changed in the clients for iOS, Android, Telegram Web K, and Unigram:
| Client | Was | Now | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| iOS | anonymous number | collectible number | October 12 |
| Android, Web K, Unigram | Anonymous Number | Collectible Number | October 12 |
| Russian translation | анонимный номер | коллекционный номер | October 13 |
The previous label had been in place since late 2022, when +888 numbers first appeared. The internal string name in the code remains AnonymousNumber; only the text visible to the user has changed.
In Telegram Desktop, the word «collectible» appeared earlier: since April 2024, the string for such a number states that it «is a collectible phone number».
When Fragment Renamed It
On Fragment's numbers page, it now says «Buy a Collectible Number». According to the web archive, the change occurred in summer 2025: a snapshot from June 12 still showed «Buy an Anonymous Number» on the page, while a snapshot from August 7 already showed «Collectible». The "About" page switched to the new word in July: on July 1, it still said «anonymous number», but by August 1, it was «collectible number».
In the blockchain, the collection retains its old name: in the NFT metadata, it is still Anonymous Telegram Numbers.
What is a +888 Number
This is a number without a SIM card: the login code for the account is received on Fragment, not via SMS. Such a number does not accept regular calls or SMS and only works within Telegram. Each number is an NFT on the TON network and can be sold or transferred. A total of 136,566 numbers were sold at auctions in December 2022.
The cheapest number for sale on October 20 costs 2,650 Gram. Prices and sales for the entire collection can be found in the numbers catalog.
