Telegram Gifts are purchased with Stars and given to other users and channels. A regular gift can be displayed on your profile or exchanged for Stars within a week. A collectible gift can be sold, transferred to another person, or withdrawn to the TON blockchain as an NFT. Below, we explain how each of these operations works and how much Telegram retains from them. This applies to anyone who has received a gift or wishes to purchase one. Figures are as of September 26, 2026.
Types of Gifts
Regular. Introduced on October 5, 2024, these are purchased with Stars from the "Send Gift" showcase. The recipient can display the gift on their profile or exchange it for Stars.
Collectible (NFT Gifts). Since January 1, 2025, a regular gift can be upgraded to a collectible one. The upgraded gift receives a random set of attributes:
- model — the design itself;
- backdrop;
- symbol;
- serial number.
No two collectible gifts are identical. Each has its own link, such as t.me/nft/PlushPepe-2187. Such gifts can be sold, transferred, and withdrawn to the blockchain. The upgrade costs Stars, and the sender can pay for it in advance, along with the gift.
Limited Edition. Released in limited editions. Once an edition is sold out, the gift disappears from the showcase. Since November 19, 2025, new gifts are released through multi-round Stars auctions. The highest bids of a round receive the gift; others proceed to the next round, and bids that didn't secure a gift are returned. The gift's number depends on its rank: the highest bid in the first round receives #1.
How to Exchange a Gift for Stars
A received regular gift can be exchanged for Stars: open it in your profile and select the exchange option. Part of its price will be returned; the exact amount is shown on the gift itself.
Two limitations:
- you can only exchange it within 7 days of receipt — the period is set in Telegram's client parameters,
stargifts_convert_period_max= 604,800 seconds; - gifts from auctions cannot be exchanged for Stars.
Exchanging a gift destroys it permanently; it cannot be recovered. A collectible gift cannot be exchanged for Stars — it must be sold. For information on how many Stars are returned for gifts of each price, see the guide on exchanging for Stars.
How to Sell a Gift
Within Telegram. Open a collectible gift in your profile, tap “Sell”, and set a price. The gift will appear on the marketplace and be marked "For Sale" in your profile. You can remove it from sale at any time.
The price can be set in Stars or GRAM. How much the seller receives is determined by client parameters:

After purchase, a gift sometimes cannot be listed immediately: the date from which sales open is shown on the gift itself.
Externally. A gift withdrawn to the blockchain can be sold as a regular NFT: on Fragment and other TON NFT marketplaces. Transactions there are in GRAM, and the platform sets the commission. Commissions for five platforms and the selling process are detailed in the guide on selling a gift.
How to Buy a Gift
Within Telegram. Open anyone's profile, tap ⋮ or ⋯, then “Send Gift”, and select the "Collectible" filter. The search filters by model, backdrop, and symbol. A purchased gift can be kept or given away.
Offer a price. For a collectible gift not listed for sale, you can make an offer to the owner: the buyer proposes a price and a deadline. During this time, Stars are reserved. If the owner declines or the deadline expires, the Stars are immediately returned.
Externally. Gifts withdrawn to the blockchain are sold for GRAM on Fragment and other marketplaces. A TON wallet is required for purchase.
The cheapest lot on Fragment on September 26 cost 5 GRAM: this was the price for Lol Pop, Ice Cream, Instant Ramen, and several other mass collections. The highest floor was for Plush Pepe — 6,666 GRAM, about $9,800. The floor, sales, and number of lots for all 120 collections are updated in the gift catalog. How to Transfer a Gift and Withdraw it to the Blockchain
Transfer. A collectible gift can be transferred to another user from your profile. For some gifts, transfer is free; for others, it costs Stars — the app shows the price before sending. As with selling, after purchase, transfer may not be available immediately.
Withdraw to blockchain. Path: profile, "Gifts", gift, "Transfer", “Send via Blockchain”. Withdrawing requires a two-step verification password. After withdrawal, the gift becomes an NFT on the TON network and resides in your wallet. Ownership is retained even if access to your Telegram account is lost.
Why withdrawal is sometimes unavailable
A gift may have a date before which withdrawal is not possible (can_export_at in the API). The same date can apply to transfers and resales — can_transfer_at and can_resell_at. The app displays this on the gift itself.
Deleted Gifts
This term refers to two different things.
Gifts no longer available in the store. A limited edition has sold out, or the gift has been removed from the showcase. No new instances will be available, so such a gift can only be purchased from an owner — on the marketplace within Telegram or, if withdrawn to the blockchain, on Fragment and other marketplaces.
Gifts hidden from the profile. A gift can be removed from your profile's showcase, and it will remain yours. You can return it to your profile at any time. Privacy settings determine whether new gifts automatically appear in your profile. For Stars, the sender's name and signature are removed from a collectible gift.
A gift disappears completely in two cases:
- when exchanged for Stars;
- during crafting — more on this below.
Gifts in Profile
- You can pin up to 6 gifts at the top of your showcase.
- Organize into collections: up to 10 collections, each with up to 500 gifts.
- Wear. A collectible gift can be set as an emoji status. Your profile's backdrop and symbol will change to match the gift.
Channels also receive gifts and display them on their profiles.
Crafting
Since February 2026, collectible gifts can be crafted into rarer versions: Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Up to 4 gifts can be placed into crafting. Each additional gift increases the chance of success. Gifts with identical attributes increase the likelihood that those attributes will transfer to the result.
All gifts placed into crafting are burned regardless of the outcome, even if unsuccessful.
Gift Market in Numbers
As of September 26, 2026, Fragment lists 120 collections. Their total market capitalization by floor is 123.4 million GRAM, approximately $181 million.
Over the past week, Fragment saw 1,677 sales totaling 77.7 thousand GRAM; in the last 24 hours, there were 464 sales totaling 43 thousand GRAM. Sales within Telegram for Stars are not included in this count: they are only visible to Telegram itself.

How market capitalization is calculated
Floor is the price of the cheapest listed lot on Fragment. Market capitalization is the floor multiplied by the number of gifts in the collection, as counted by Fragment. The exchange rate is $1.47 per GRAM on September 26.
