On October 27, Pump.fun announced on X that the TON network is now available in its application, allowing users to purchase TON tokens using the app's USDC balance. The announcement did not mention the creation of new tokens on the TON network.
What Was Launched
The announcement from @Pumpfun on October 27 (14:02 UTC) stated that TON network tokens can be purchased directly from a USDC balance. 58 minutes later, the TON Community account confirmed the launch, noting that any TON token can be traded on the Pump.fun app.
According to a recap by cryptonews, there is no need to hold GRAM for fees, and Monad (October 24) and X Layer (October 26) were added to the app before TON. Thus, TON became another network in a series of integrations, rather than a standalone product.
Pump.fun did not specify which service handles cross-chain transactions. Relay lists the TON network as supported, but with limited token support; this does not confirm Relay's connection to Pump.fun. The announcement only mentions fees generally ("the cheapest fees") without specific figures.
What the Announcement Did Not Say
A post from the @gramnews channel referred to this as a launch "on a token launchpad." However, the announcement focuses on purchasing TON tokens within the app; it does not mention the creation of TON network tokens, bonding curves on TON, or migration to DEXs.
The first such post from the channel was published on October 24, three days before the announcement, with a follow-up on October 27. On October 24, Pump.fun announced Monad, not TON.
TON Network DEX Volume
Pump.fun does not publish its TON volume, so only the overall figure is visible. The 24-hour DEX volume for the TON network, according to DefiLlama data:
