On October 20, MEXC exchange announced that it is ceasing services for users in Russia and Belarus. There is no single date: the exchange will send individual notifications to each affected user regarding the deadlines for closing positions and withdrawing funds. Currently, approximately $19 million in GRAM and jettons is held across three MEXC addresses on the TON network — three times more than Bitget, which exited Russia and Belarus on October 16.
What MEXC Announced
The announcement was published in the product updates section. The exchange attributes its decision to ongoing efforts to comply with regulatory requirements in various countries, without specifying which ones. The key points are:
- services for users in Russia and Belarus are being terminated;
- procedures and deadlines for closing positions and withdrawing assets will be communicated via individual notifications;
- users who have not received notifications can continue to use the exchange as before;
- according to the exchange, user assets are secure, and any questions should be directed to support.
The newspaper Vedomosti also reports on the decision. The announcement does not specify how the exchange determines who is located in Russia or Belarus — whether by residency, citizenship, or identity verification data.
What Users Should Do
Users should await notifications with specific deadlines and not delay withdrawals. GRAM and TON jettons can be withdrawn via standard TON network withdrawals — for example, to the built-in Telegram wallet or any other. In the same announcement, MEXC warns about scammers: the exchange will not ask for passwords, secret (seed) phrases, or transfers in private messages.
How Many TON Assets Are on MEXC
MEXC has three addresses on the TON network identified as exchange addresses. As of October 20, they hold:
| Asset | Amount | In USD |
|---|---|---|
| GRAM | 5.72 million | $7.66 million |
| USDe | 6.28 million | $6.29 million |
| USD₮ | 1.45 million | $1.44 million |
| TAC | 824 million | $1.01 million |
| NOT | 1.41 billion | $566 thousand |
| DOGS | 12.9 billion | $507 thousand |
| REDO | 5.32 million | $227 thousand |
| PX | 19.5 million | $222 thousand |
| VERT | 199 million | $207 thousand |
| EVAA | 374 thousand | $204 thousand |
| HMSTR | 860 million | $123 thousand |
In total, with other jettons, this amounts to approximately $19 million. Almost all of it, $18.96 million, is held at a single address — MEXC 3. It is impossible to determine from the blockchain how much of these funds belong to clients from Russia and Belarus, as the exchange stores all user funds in shared addresses.
The amount of GRAM on MEXC is almost seven times greater than on Bitget: 5.72 million versus 847 thousand.
How Many TON Tokens Are Traded on MEXC
By the evening of October 20, TON ecosystem tokens traded $4.67 million on MEXC within 24 hours:
| Market | 24-hour Trading Volume | Of which GRAM |
|---|---|---|
| Spot | $1.97 million | $1.14 million |
| Futures | $2.70 million | $1.86 million |
After GRAM, NOT is the most traded, with $139 thousand on the spot market and $259 thousand on futures, followed by DOGS, HMSTR, CATI, TAC, and EVAA.
